I was driving along the other day and was listening to my adorable children in the back seat playing with this:
We all know the joys of a Magna Doodle. Well, my son has been having a ton of fun writing his letters on his. So much fun that I think that his handwriting is really starting to improve!
It got me to thinking about how great these would be for the classroom. My plan is to get a class set for my students to use through out the year.. letters in the beginning, sight words in the middle, and sentences in the end.
The more I thought, the more wonderful it sounded. However, I discovered that this was not the most original thought ever (even if it does rock!). Lakeshore Learning Supplies has 'magic boards' that you can buy for this exact reason. You can buy them one at a time or even a set of 10. They even have over lays for different activities and skills that your students can use to practice.
Well, first thing first, I can't really afford to buy a class set of the adorable magic boards... soooooooo I created an account with Donor's Choose. I'm so hoping that my project gets funded! You can check it out here and maybe give a little if you feel called to do so :) I am super excited about getting a class set! I have 5 months to get it funded but I would love to have these by the beginning of the school year.
Have you ever had a project on Donor's Choose? I'd love to hear about it!
