Clifford is our friend! (Take Home Friend part 1)

Last year, in Pre-K, my son's teacher did the cutest activity with all of the students. Each weekend one student got to take home their class mascot for a visit. My son brought the mascot home in October so Corduroy got to go to a soccer game, church, the corn maze, a pony ride, and even play in the corn pit. Plus the story gets read at night to the child!

You take pictures and record your adventures in a class notebook that gets shared back at school. I'm going to try it this year and see how my students do with it. I'm not going to start sending home our friend until after Open House so I can explain it to parents.

Here's our mascot for the year:

It's Clifford! He's so wonderful! I love him and Emily Elizabeth... plus they teach morals and ethics on kid-friendly terms. Love that it is good beginning literature for my students.

Do you have a mascot? Who is it?
