Tech Tuesday: Smartboard Success

At my old school we only had 2 Smartboards Similar to this one
and everyone else had a Mimio similar to this one.
So when I learned that I was going to be getting my very own Smartboard... I freaked a bit since I've never really used one myself. I plan on taking a day during preplanning to teach myself the ins and outs.

After my big freak out, I decided that I should research it some more... because surely there are some hints and tricks out there somewhere! And sure enough I found this wonderful site:

My favorite tip is number 3 with the magic pen. I'm betting kindergarten would be ALL over that but for 5th grade I'm thinking for of a 'Race the Clock' situation. I like the idea of a review game where they have until the question disappears to answer it correctly.

How do you use your Smartboard?
What's your favorite 'trick'?

  1. I love my smart board. You will too once you get the hang of it. My bulb went out in my projector last winter and I didn't have my board for 2 weeks. I felt lost. It is amazing how dependent we become on technology. Another great resource is http://exchange.smarttech.com/ they have lessons on pretty much every topic. There are free and paid resources, however I have never paid for any. They are posted by fellow teachers who are willing to share what they have made. Then once you download it you can make any changes necessary to tailor it to your classroom needs. Have fun with your new board.
