Kinder Camp: Day 1

Who does Kinder Camp?! Raise your hand HIGH! I really do love teaching Kinder Camp since it completely encompasses all the F-U-N that we have in Kindergarten. I love it! I'm excited to share with you what we are up to each day of Kinder Camp this year:

Day 1- Pete the Cat Day

I am in love with this whole day and especially the activity that I had them do today. Being in 5th grade this past year made me miss making headbands and hats. So my first activity back in Kinder-land absolutely had to be a hat!

After looking on Pinterest, I found this link to a project on KidsSoup:

Isn't he adorable?

We also checked out the official Pete the Cat web site. It was the perfect time filler for those few minutes that our Petes needed to dry. There is even a quick 5 minute video of Pete that the kids can watch!

I can't wait to show you tomorrow's activity. It's one of my favorite books to share with students at the beginning of the year!

Lovin' Summer

I've definitely hit that point of summer where it's on the down slide towards school. But we are definitely still enjoying our summer fun! I thought it's be fun just to share a couple clips of what we've been up to here in the South :)

4th of July was so much fun! We went to the local mall, grabbed dinner, and ate in the back of our truck while we enjoyed the show. It's definitely a tie between the glow sticks/bracelets/necklaces/crowns and the fireworks as to what is my kids favorite part!

Planning is so much fun now that I've been linking up with Keeping Up with Mrs. Harris every other Sunday. I've gotten so many great new ideas to be able to plan with!

Oh. My. Gosh. Have y'all been to Target lately? The Dollar Spot is going to kill my checking account!! The lamps are some that I just want to make... and not buy at an antique store for $120...each... yikes!

What have you been up to this summer? I hope it's all super duper fun!

Plan With Me Sunday

I loved linking up 2 weeks ago with Creative in Kindergarten and Mrs. Harris. It's so great to see so many great tips on scheduling and planning! I took some of those tips and made mine even better. Plus this week we have more great ideas and a giveaway!

Here's my tip for the week:

Use lists!

For post planning I went and purchased just a basic notebook to start my lists:

Let the list making begin!! I like to have it all together: to purchase, to do, to make, and my sample schedules. If it's all together, I can't lose it!

Now here's the fun part. As I go into my classroom this week to work, I already have my to-do list done so I can transfer my list over into my planner so it's NEAT and organized. I can do all the 'messy' organization in my notebook and have a clean look in my planner.

My favorite tip from our last link up was to get specific pens for just my planner. I totally did and I love looking and knowing what is home, what is school, and what is blog. It's wonderful and organized!!
