Interactive Math Notebook Love

Have you seen this great new resource? I love the Interactive Notebooks from Carson-Dellosa. They sent it to me to try out with my classroom and my students love it!!

This resource is great for sure. Its separated into different concepts/topics of math and has clear ideas outlined to go with each resource: lessons, application, etc.

Check out these great pieces of work:

My students did a GREAT job of cutting, sorting, and gluing their 2-D shapes. They loved it and are thoroughly engaged the entire time! My student's being engaged and learning something from each lesson is invaluable!

Check out this fantastic resource:

They even offer an interactive notebook training video:

A Peek at my Week

This week (even though it's a short week) is going to be a ton of fun! Check out my plans below:

We are going to be learning how to choose good fit books in reading, exploring rhyming words, ALMOST finishing up our letter boot camp, and checking out position words. Hopefully by the end of this week I will have 2-D/3-D shapes and 5 senses assessed. We are going to have a great time.

This week is one of my favorites because we get to do all of our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom activities. They are some of my favorites!! Here are some of my favorite ideas to use with Chicka Chicka Boom Boom:

Watching the story is an absolute must. The kids love it!!I have the DVD but it's also on Book Flix.

These sheets from Mailbox are great for listening, following directions, and letter identification.

This puzzle is a favorite for my kids. They have already played with it this year and L-O-V-E it!

I'm excited to use these this week too. I've missed being able to use some of the items that I created when I taught K before. There are response sheets, letter matching, play dough mats. It's great!! (Plus I'm making it 20% of this week just for y'all!!)

In the mail goodness!!

I really, really love getting things in the mail!! It's definitely one of my favorite things in life!! I was really excited today when I came home to find this:

I love, love being a Carson Dellosa Ambassador!! The pocket chart is made specifically for this so it'll be perfect! Plus I have the perfect spot for it in my classroom :) EEK!!

The cards for the standards come all put together. It took me maybe 3 minutes to sort them out in their different areas.

Look how easy they are to read! Love this! I can't wait to use them in my room!!

Delicious Math for 3-D shapes

My kids had the BEST time in math today! Seriously y'all, 2 days in a row with math and food. They are in HOG HEAVEN right now.. Totally a southern phrase right?

We have been working on our 3-D shape knowledge and they have been doing fantastic. Yesterday we built 3-d shapes with marshmallows and toothpicks. Today we graphed them.

They did such an amazing job!! I am super proud of my kiddos for accepting the challenges I give them with enthusiasm. They gave it their all!

I will tell you the secret to making this a success is to prep it all before so that the kids ALL have their own bag that have the EXACT same number of objects. Then you can do it all together. Their first couple of graphing activities I do together like this. After about 3-4, I transition into the grab and graph activities.
