Celebrate today: National Programmers' Day

Have you tried out STEM in your classroom? What about Hour of Code? These are both great ways to be able to celebrate today! Below are some great ideas and resources to make today extra fun and engaging for your students!

Flashback to last year! Remember my post about the Oreo Towers? Yes, I did this with 5th grader. But Kindergarteners could still have fun with it. That's the great thing about differentiation and rigor... you challenge them where they are at!

This is one of my newest and most favorite picture books! There is a whole series coming out focusing on STEM important people- men AND women!

The Hour of Code website is fantastic for students to practice and learn how to code... even when they don't realize that they are doing it! I love that they have some that strike the interest of boys and for girls. Of course my little girl might just pick Minecraft over Frozen.

So, the question is, how do you STEM? I'd love to hear about your ideas or activities-- especially to celebrate today!!
