Static Electricity Lab: Get those electrons moving!

We have been learning about Electricity and Magnetism in our science class this 9 weeks. It has been a blast (literally)!! After playing with the plasma bulb last week, I wanted to give my students another way to experience Static Electricity.

I guess you could say it all started with a balloon and paper dots :)

The attraction grew....

All 3 class periods had a ball rubbing the balloon on different objects to see which ones worked best at creating the attraction. There recordings were the best!

(She showed each of her group members and how they tried different materials.)

Their responses, vocabulary use, and conclusions were awesome!!!

If you want to have your students do this as well, check out my newest pack to go with it!
